Classic Car Club Mallorca
Summer Solstice Picnic at Santuari de Cura, Randa
June 21st, 2025

The Classic Car Club Mallorca celebrated the height of summer with its annual Summer Solstice picnic on Saturday June 21st, held at the breathtaking Hostatgeria del Santuari de Cura in Randa. The event brought together club members and their vehicles for an unforgettable evening of beautiful cars, camaraderie and tradition.
This year we saw a range of over 20 stunning cars with both classics and newer vehicles making the scenic drive up to the Hostatgeria with the variety and superb condition of the vehicles showcasing the passion and dedication of their owners. The cars on display included a Seat 609, 2 Austin Healy, a Mercedes Pagoda and cabriolets, Porsche 911 Targa and a 991, 2 MGs, a Ford Thunderbird and the gargantuan Lincoln Continental.
In the spirit of Midsummer's Eve, many members embraced the occasion with floral headpieces and themed attire, adding colour and joy to the gathering. The attention to detail wasn’t limited to fashion — picnic spreads were equally impressive. Picnic chairs and hampers, candelabras and fine tableware adorned the grounds, with members competing for the coveted prize for best-presented picnic.
This year’s award went to Ralf and Dodo Hendrichs, whose exquisite cheeseboard and curated drinks selection stole the show. Their presentation combined gourmet flair with traditional charm, making it a true centrepiece of the evening.
A special moment during the event was the formal introduction of the club’s new committee members, who will be carrying the torch from the much-appreciated Pam and Stan. Matthias Ohm will be stepping in as the new Chairman, with Marisa De Luca taking on the role of Communications & PR. Sadie Sutherland and Blanca Ramos will coordinate events, with Andy Sutherland assuming the role of Treasurer. Gerton Bijiholt continues his role as the clubs go to mechanic. The club extends its heartfelt thanks to Pam and Stan for their dedication and warmly welcomes the new team as they begin an exciting new chapter.
As the sun began to set over the Tramontana landscape, a surprise awaited the guests—a local Xeremiers band arrived, filling the air with the haunting, melodic sounds of traditional Mallorcan music. The band’s performance, timed perfectly with the golden glow of sunset, brought a magical close to the festivities.
On a final note, we would also like to let members know that we will shortly be publishing a club survey on our website and we kindly ask all members to take a few moments to complete it. Your feedback and suggestions are invaluable in helping us shape the future of the club and make it even better for everyone. The club is there for its members and we will welcome all comments and suggestions.
We would like to thank everyone for attending and making the 2025 Summer Solstice picnic an experience to remember. We hope to see you all next year!
